Another suspected honour killing, girl electrocuted in Punjab

By Joanne - Posted on 26 July 2010

In yet another case of suspected honour killing this time in Punjab, parents allegedly killed their 22-year-old daughter by electrocution over an 'affair'. The father-mother duo allegedly electrocuted their daughter and then attempted to burn alive her lover in Begowal in Punjab's Hoshiarpur District on Saturday (July 24).

Sher Singh and Paramjit Kaur allegedly locked their daughter's lover Gagandeep Singh in his car and set it ablaze at a secluded place. When he got out, he was attacked with sharp-edged weapons and left for dead, but managed to survive.

On reaching the girl's house, the police found her electocuted. The couple have been booked for their daughter's murder and attempting to murder Gagandeep.

Times Now

Honour killings are growing rampant everyday. I am against honour killings. I believe that one should respect life, whatever their beliefs may be. I feel pity for the girl for meeting her demise in a very young age.
